Select bones interactively while painting weights

Summary
While painting weights onto an envelope, you normally use the envelope weights editor to change deformers. You can also interactively select deformers, without necessarily having to resort to the envelope weights editor.
Steps
- Select the envelope
- Press the W key to enable the paint tool.
- Now when you want to select another deformer press the D key and you can pick the required deformer.

Tip: Use Xray Shading along with the above steps to select deformers while in Constant, Shaded, and Textured viewing modes.
