COLLADA is a COLLAborative Design Activity for establishing an open standard Digital Asset schema for interactive 3D applications. COLLADA is designed to be the center piece of Digital Asset tool chains used by the 3D interactive industry.

COLLADA Releases v1.3.0 - v1.4.0

[09/27/2006] COLLADA converter v1.4.0 released

  • COLLADA 1.4.0 is completely integrated in Softimage|XSI 5.1 and in the Softimage|FTK that ships with the Softimage|XSI SDK. It happened this spring.
  • Released a patch for XSI 5.11 for Foundation, Essentials and Advanced users. It fixes a few reported issues.

[10/13/2005] COLLADA converter v1.3.1.3 released

New features

  • Refactor XML utility functions
  • Refactor FTK utility functions
  • Made the export/import dialogs non modal
  • Changed export/import scripting (see documentation)
  • Rearchitected animation export/import code to handle single and compound types
  • Added animation support on materials
  • Added animation support on lights
  • Added animation support on cameras
  • Instanciated the ambient light in the scene

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a few issues with bones and skins
