What is a license key file
A license key is a unit of authentication that enables certain features of the
XSI software. License keys are stored in a database which is read by the license server. A license key file is an encrypted file containing license keys for your server. To access those licenses you must install this file onto your license server. Note that the key file can only be installed on the server for which it was generated. A license key file is saved with a (*.keys) extension.
An example of a license key file:
