Query Server

In the license manager, click the Query Usage button to open the query license server window. Querying the license server provides you with the following information:
- A listing of all licenses installed on that server.
- The number of licenses that are in use and by which users.
- Which temporary licenses have expired.
- Which license servers are responding to requests for licenses.

Monitoring servers and licenses from the license manager
- Open the license manager: choose Start > Programs > Softimage Products > License Manager.
- Click Query Usage.
- Enter the name of any license server on your network in the List Server(s) box.
- Enter multiple license servers at a time by listing the names separated by semicolons: Server1;Server2;Server3.
- Enter localhost to monitor the local license server.
- Click Run Query.
- You should see a listing of all licenses install on the server(s).
- By default the query will return all licenses installed, but you can select Query licenses in use to list only those licenses being actively used.
- You can also select Include detailed usage information to get user and system information.

Monitoring servers and licenses from the command line
You can get server statistics and usage from the command line by using an application called spmstat.exe. spmstat gets instaled in the same folder with the license manager and the other licensing applications: C:\spm by default.
- Open a Softimage command prompt: choose Start > Programs > Softimage Products > SOFTIMAGE XSI > Command Prompt
- Type spmstat -K
- You should see a listing of all installed licenses similar to when you run a query on all licenses in the license manager.

spmstat -k lists licenses in use
spmstat -K lists all licenses
spmstat -Kd lists all licenses and detailed usage information
spmstat [spmhost] gets status on a particular license server
spmstat -h for information on additional options
