Overview

The Jobs page is the main page of the BatchServe system. It lists all of the currently submitted jobs, their status, and other relevant information about each job.

Image:Si_ue_tip.png If the jobs page has been open for a while, you will need to refresh to get the latest data. Selecting the Auto-Refresh Data option will force the page to refresh automatically every 10 seconds.

To deactivate auto-refresh, go to another BatchServe server page (the Home page, for example), and then return to the Jobs page.

You can filter the listed jobs by status, group, and/or user. Select the desired filter criteria from the filtering drop-down menus and click the Filter Jobs By button to apply the filtering. Once you've sorted them, you can change the sort order by clicking on the column heads.

Monitoring Tasks

A task is the smallest element that can be processed by a single computer. Whenever possible, a job is subdivided into tasks. For example, a rendering job is divided into individual frames.

On the other hand, scripting jobs never have more than one task because scripts cannot be split across multiple computers.

Assigning Jobs to Groups

You can assign jobs to different groups. Select one or more jobs by checking the boxes beside the Id field, select a group from the drop-down menu and click the Assign Selected button.

Starting, Stopping, and Deleting Jobs

You can also start, stop, and delete selected jobs. Select one or more jobs by checking the boxes beside the Id field and do one of the following:

  • Click the Stop button to temporarily stop the selected jobs.
  • Click the Start button to restart stopped jobs.
  • Click the Delete button to delete the selected jobs.

Getting Job Details

To get details about a job, either click on a job name to open that job's details page or click on the value in the Tasks field to open the job's tasks page.
