Game Development (XSISDK)

A very powerful plug-in type for game developers is the Custom Display Host. See Integrating A Game Engine as a Custom Display Host (XSISDK).

And of course import/export capabilities is one of the key pipeline considerations. XSI supports some standard interchange formats directly out of the box. And Game developers can use the FTK and dotXSI format, or they can write their own import/exporter plug-in using the C++ API (or scripting object model).

And the Real-Time Shader support is often interesting for game developers.

The XSI SDK makes it possible to using XSI as batch processing software, so content can be processed without human intervention.
